When I was younger, I just knew the Hemingway Home as the place with six-toed cats. As I got older, I learned to appreciate the history of the home and its significance in Key West. With one branch of my family being from Key West and native Conchs, I wanted to do a little homage to the home, some family history, and to those adorable kitties while Rusty and I were down in Florida on vacation this past July.

With the iconic chartreuse window shutters, the Hemingway Home is a beauty and is home to dozens of Hemingway feline descendants as Key West’s largest residential home on the island. So any bride wanting to get married here surely won’t be shy of color and kitty love! The weather was typical Floridian weather and gave us quite the monsoon-like afternoon storm, but it quickly broke out into its humid sunshine and broken clouds.

Listed below, I give so many thanks to the wonderful local-to-Key West wedding pros (and one of Williamsburg’s own bridal boutiques!) for helping this little vision come to life. And also for Swooned for featuring this colorful stylized bridal and The Crinkle Bag for giving the kitties a little web love!
